It was very good, just way too short. I liked Devyn, flaws and all, and I think this story could be written into so much more. There was good adventure in the story and some paranormal communication. The plot was great and the writing was very good. I didn't notice any typos.I really believe this character could sustain a full-length book, she just needs to be healthy and stronger. Maybe her outcome with little Penny will get her where she needs to be for a nice little series.

Excellent short story, and I wish it was longer. I wanted more of Devyn, though. Like other reviewers, I think she'd make a fantastic character for a set of short stories, or a longer work.
For a short story, Deathsinger was power packed. There were no wasted words. No frivolous dribble. I agree, if longer we could have learned a lot more about the characters and what made them the way they were but what Kane gave us in just a few pages makes up for a longer work that may have lacked the same punch. Kudos for an out of the box story that sings!
